But in order to build a joyful and happy existence upon this fundament, you need to change how you think about the difficulties you're confronted with in life. Everyone has to face challenges in their lives from time to time.

Money, fame and looks help live a quality life in a great way, but they don't bring happiness, as we've discussed earlier. The bottom line: Negative thinking happens to all of us, but if we recognize it and challenge that thinking, we are taking a big step toward a happier life.

Living a good life could mean different things to different people. On the weekend, escape to nature or a place where you can feel peace in time for a fresh start to the work week. But in our social lives it is so important to keep awesome and positive people around us, the ones who make us laugh, who are joyous to be around.

Take some minutes to look deeper into yourself and your life, and it will tell you where you naturally focus your valuable resources (time, energy, money, attention). So in order to learn how to live a happy life, be willing to work hard and pay the price for the satisfaction and rewards you desire.

So if you want to make a change then start today. For example, if you need to decide whether or not to break up with your boyfriend, then take some steps to come to a decision, such as discussing your feelings with a close friend or family member. A fulfilling and happy life is a life that you share with your family and friends.

The report also suggests that different types of employment yield different effects on happiness, mostly for attract reasons related to the above criteria; for example, self-employed people tend to report lower happiness, in part because of lower job security than full-time employees.

The first is creating a mental habit of paying attention to what makes us happy and the second is designing our lives so it is easier to do those things. It may sound simple, but think about how often you portray a certain persona or facade to the world, all the while feeling completely different on the inside.

They want to stop you from feeling the pain they feel because they never had the courage to do what they wanted in life. Put a stopper on these negative thoughts and take control of how you're feeling. If you're able to spend less time in the office by working remotely or having flexible hours, you should be able to be productive in both your personal and professional life.

The job, relationship, or whatever we are envisioning and desiring for our lives is all on its way—and when we surrender our plans for the timeline and the form in which we think it should arrive, we allow an even bigger and better outcome to take place.

I have an amazing family that I look forward to coming home to every night, a job that is meaningful and provides balance, and a burgeoning small business that excites me. Though, I still have my struggles and doubts, on the whole I am proud to say that I live a happy life and that it didn't happen by accident.
